Apogee unveiled Symphony Nova – new audio interface with unique DSP

January 23, 2026

The company announced the release of the new Apogee Symphony Nova audio interface on its official website. This model relies on a built-in digital signal processor (DSP) chip, meaning signal processing will be available simultaneously on all microphone inputs.

The Symphony Nova is a compact desktop audio interface with a built-in DSP chip. The main idea behind this new product is to enable real-time signal processing at the input without overloading the computer's CPU and to provide comfortable monitoring with minimal latency.

Each input on the audio interface features an updated Apogee ECS channel strip effects chain. The software processes the signal in real time using a separate ARM chip, so it doesn't overload the computer's CPU. Additionally, the audio interface is equipped with separate reverbs and delays for monitoring and recording.

According to Apogee, the effects chain consists of:

  • 4-band equalizer
  • High- and low-frequency pass filters
  • Compressor
  • Saturator/overdrive

In addition to signal processing, the Symphony Nova adjusts the sound of connected speakers or monitors on all analog outputs. Users can adjust room acoustics and change the frequency response of the sound system directly in the audio interface menu, eliminating the need to adjust software settings on the computer.

As for headphones, the Nova supports importing profiles from Sonarworks SoundID calibrators. Users can load a set of profiles into the interface's memory and switch between them as desired.

For guitar work, there is a direct input and a reamping section "inspired by the Apogee Ensemble line." The interface also has MIDI In/Out connectors and an ADAT section to expand the set of ports.

According to the announcement, the audio interface uses Apogee's proprietary AD/DA conversion technology and custom preamps. The latter promise honest amplification and stable performance on all inputs. Specifications of the audio interface have not yet been disclosed, but they promise to reveal them later.

The Apogee Symphony Nova will go on sale in the second quarter of 2026. The recommended retail price of the device is $1,499. The company will announce the start of sales on its official website.

In November 2025, Plugin Alliance founder Dirk Ulrich announced the acquisition of Apogee Electronics Corp. The deal was completed through Rockforce Tech Holding, through which Ulrich also acquired Manley Labs. This merger is expected to expand the software capabilities of the hardware under the umbrella of a single parent company.
