Sony is releasing an updated version of its full-size wireless headphones - WH-1000XM6, developed in collaboration with the Sterling Sound mastering studio. The headphones offer up to 30 hours of playback time on a single charge and up to three hours with a three-minute fast charge (with ANC enabled).
The product is said to be equipped with an enhanced HD noise-canceling QN3 processor. Thanks to the QN3 processor and a specially designed array of 12 microphones, the headphones provide more effective noise cancellation. The company claims that the new ANC processor is seven times faster than the one in the WH-1000XM5 model. Additionally, the updated design places the microphone system closer to the user's ears, providing improved noise detection accuracy by dynamically adapting to the environment.
In turn, Sony's WH-1000XM6 headphones boast proprietary 360 Reality Audio Upmix technology; support for codecs such as LDAC, SBC, AAC, LC3; real-time file recovery technology: Edge-AI and DSEE Extreme (enhances the quality of compressed music by restoring high-frequency audio lost during compression); AI-based beamforming system with six microphones that isolate speech during calls; foldable design and wider asymmetrical headband with synthetic leather; intuitive controls; automatic call start detection followed by smooth pause of music playback; and other features.
