PreSonus Studio One Pro 7.2 introduces a new bass synthesizer and adds ARM support for Windows

June 6, 2025

The PreSonus Studio One Pro 7.2 DAW update is now available to all registered users. The new version adds several interface improvements aimed at improving the user experience, and also introduces a beta version of the station for Windows-based computers equipped with ARM processors. The developers have redesigned the plugin browser and improved the interface to make the DAW more user-friendly.

The devs noted that Studio One Pro 7.2 includes improvements that positively affect performance. They also finalized the interface and recording options to make interacting with the DAW more convenient.

The update also introduces a new Sub Zero Bass synth plugin. This synthesizer is designed for creating hybrid bass sounds. This virtual instrument has a three-layer architecture that allows you to combine and mix up to three sound sources. Each layer has independent synthesis and effects settings, including parameters for bitrate, filtering, arpeggiator operation, etc.

The DAW has an updated Tuner 2 with 30 presets for tuning guitars with non-standard and open strings. Additionally, PreSonus noted that Studio One now supports the Nashville Number System music recording methodology, which will allow easy transfer of scores between different DAWs & audio editing software.

Another important innovation is the improved plugin browser. For example, users can choose their preferred plugin format—the developers recommend VST3—remove duplicate effects from the list and organize it as convenient. These changes will be particularly useful for those who work with extensive processing libraries.

The recording section has received looping improvements. Users can now specify the start and end times of a recording, making it easier to record multiple takes of the same part in a row. The audio export function now has improved logic for real-time and background exports and an option to automatically select upload mode based on connected devices.

Other changes include automatic region zoom for patterns, improved mapping when selecting regions, and the addition of a search function to the automation section. Developers improved the DAW's performance in the macOS environment when working with Apple chips and added notifications about new audio content in the downloadable materials catalog.

Studio One Pro 7.2 now has native support for ARM processors in the Windows environment. The program's developers noted that compatibility with such systems is still in the testing stage and advised users not to use DAW as their main workstation in these conditions.

PreSonus Studio One Pro 7.2 is now available for download on the DAW's official website. The full list of changes is available as a separate document. A full list of the key changes in the update can be found at this link.
