Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne performed their final show. The 10-hour concert featured other famous musicians in addition to the band itself.
The "Back to the Beginning" show took place on July 6, 2025, at the Villa Park stadium in Birmingham, England. The venue was not chosen at random — it was in Birmingham that the band began its history in 1968.
The stadium has a capacity of over 40,000 spectators. Tickets for the Black Sabbath show went on sale in February 2025 and sold out in 16 minutes. For those who could not make it to the venue, a pay-per-view broadcast with a two-hour time delay was organized.
The final Black Sabbath concert featuring Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler, and Bill Ward lasted 10 hours. In addition to the band, the show featured many other performers who played their own songs, as well as covers of Black Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne songs.
Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Halestorm, Lamb of God, Alice in Chains, Tool, Ghost, Slayer, and Yungblud were among the guest performers. Some participants formed "supergroups" to perform songs — for example, Aerosmith vocalist Steven Tyler and Rage Against the Machine guitarist Tom Morello joined one such group.
The concert featured several presenters, including Jason Momoa and Jack Black. During the show, video messages from artists associated with Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath were broadcast on the screen. For example, Elton John and Marilyn Manson recorded messages with kind words and well-wishes.
Ozzy Osbourne performed from a "throne." This was due to Parkinson's disease, which prevents the musician from moving normally.
The show will be available for paid viewing on the event's official website. Access to the videos will close on July 7, and it is noted that all proceeds from ticket sales and broadcasts will be donated to charity. It is expected that the concert recording will be released on physical media in the future.
We are very happy that, despite his illness and advanced age of 76, Ozzy Osbourne continues to appear in the media. Even better, he held a large-scale concert! We hope it won't be the last concert of his career. Let's not forget that Ozzy Osbourne previously appeared in an advertisement for Liquid Death (A new tea containing a piece of Ozzy Osbourne's DNA).
