Kemper Profiler MK 2 Release - Increased Speed and Performance

May 30, 2025

The official announcement revealed the release of the second generation of Kemper Profiler MK 2 amplifiers. The updated series will include basic units and advanced Powered-versions of the devices. There are no external changes, so no one will know which generation you are using.

The company claims that its second-generation Kemper Profiler MK 2 modeling amps offer more power and greater versatility, unleashing the creative potential of musicians. At the heart of this new generation is a revamped processing engine that promises significant performance improvements. Kemper claims that the units' overall load time has been reduced to 20 seconds.

The manufacturer notes that the improved engine paves the way for new features that enhance the capabilities of modern guitar and bass equipment. Thus, the equipment offers faster loading times, quicker preset switching, and a more responsive interface, particularly in Performance Mode.

Externally, the units remain unchanged; the amps still resemble toasters with numerous controls. Those waiting for a larger display and more colors will be disappointed; as before, only a small monochrome screen displays information about the status of operation.

Another significant change to the second-generation units is the updated effects architecture. The number of FX slots has increased to seven blocks, allowing users to work with up to 20 independent slots simultaneously. Additionally, the units have separate pedalboard FX slots that include a fixed set of treatments.

According to the description, the pedalboard slots consist of:

  • Noise Gate (Palm Ninja)
  • Compressor
  • Pure Booster
  • WahWah
  • Vintage Chorus
  • Air Chorus
  • Double Tracker

Thus, the manufacturer said that guitarists will get a fully digital pedalboard with fast loading and saving of all parameters.

Kemper assures that new profiling technology will be available for the lineup in summer 2025. The algorithms are currently undergoing final testing on third-party equipment to ensure their accuracy and stability.

The company has not disclosed details about the updated profiling algorithm. What is known is that the software will use more than 100,000 frequency bands to create replicas of real equipment and that users will have access to detailed case resonance tuning. The developers also promise to increase the amount of data collected when creating a profile. Only time will tell what will be true and what will remain marketing promises.

Kemper Profiler MK 2 series devices have a USB connector for connecting to PC. This connection allows you to reamp directly into your DAW, eliminating the need for a third-party audio interface. The connection supports up to eight channels of audio, enabling the amp to be used for multi-channel recording.

Other changes include an update to the built-in looper, which supports recording and looping files up to two minutes long. The company claims this time is sufficient for recording complex individual parts and multilayered backing tracks.
