Image-Line has released a beta version of its FL Studio 25 DAW that adds artificial intelligence. The Gopher AI algorithm was developed by the company to assist musicians in their work.
Image-Line has released the public beta version of FL Studio 25 Beta V3 with a number of new features. In addition to improved audio export, clip handling and remote control functions, the update adds Gopher AI to the workstation. The language model is developed independently by Image-Line and trained on FL Studio knowledge base material and user manuals.
According to the developers, Gopher AI works similarly to ChatGPT - users can ask the algorithm questions related to working with FL Studio and get specific answers on how to use the program's features. It should be noted that the algorithm gives detailed and illustrated answers, clearly showing the peculiarities of performing certain actions in the workspace.
The first prototype of Gopher AI was created in August 2024 - now the developers are starting its public testing. The name of the algorithm comes from the term Gofer, which in English means a person whose main task is to run errands or perform various unplanned tasks for other people. The creators note that the goal of the algorithm is to speed up the process of learning and producing music, not to replace creativity itself.
Gopher is available in a separate tab of the app information window. Users can bookmark the tab with the assistant for quick access. The algorithm answers users' text queries and gives tips on working with the application. The creators recommend using Gopher AI to find suitable plug-ins, memorize keyboard shortcuts and perform simple tasks.
It should be noted that the model does not search for information on the Internet and is limited to data from the program's official manual and knowledge base. In the absence of information in these sources, the algorithm will not be able to answer the question.
The introduction of the algorithm has alarmed some FL Studio users who expressed concern about the security of their personal data. In response, Image-Line released a statement assuring users that Gopher does not access data on endpoint computers, nor does it collect, transmit, analyze or use audio or other information stored in FL Studio projects. The algorithm is merely a text-based assistant and helper that uses information from publicly available FL Studio support resources.
At the same time, the AI assistant maintains an impersonal database of user questions and answers, which is necessary to train the language model and improve its skills. The only exception to the sharing of user data is when the user agrees with the algorithm's suggestion to contact the help desk. In this case, Gopher AI will forward all correspondence to the company's employees to resolve the issue.
The beta version of FL Studio 25 Beta V3 is already available on the software's official website. Information about the update can be found on the software's user forum. To participate in the testing, you need to submit a request.
