Following the release of the Amber i2 interface, ESI introduced the Amber i4, another audio interface in the budget Amber series.
Similar to the ESI i2 audio interface, i4 has a dynamic range of 115 dB and a stereo loopback function. It also has an input selection switch and independent controls. For ease of use, the unit features an LED display that shows information and an on/off button. Its switching capabilities include two XLR/TRS combination mic/line/instrument jacks; MIDI I/O jacks; two 6.3mm headphone outputs; two pairs of 6.3mm balanced TRS L-R outputs; and two 6.3mm TRS line inputs.
Like other models in the series, the i4 reportedly supports phantom power and comes equipped with a USB-C (USB 3.1/2.0) port and EWDM drivers. The supplied drivers provide minimal latency and support ASIO 2.0, MME, WDM, DirectSound, and virtual channels. It's worth noting that the i4 is compatible with Windows 10 and later as well as macOS 10.9 and newer versions. Finally, the i4 comes with Cubasis LE software for iPhone/iPad, Wavelab LE, and Bitwig Studio 8-Track. Additionally, users can get a three-month subscription to JackTrip Virtual Studio.
