Following the i1 model, ESI is releasing the Amber i2 audio interface, which expands the Amber line of affordable audio interfaces designed for podcasters, musicians, streamers, and content creators.
Like the junior model, the device has a dynamic range of 114 dB and features a 6.3 mm headphone output, balanced TRS L-R paired output, stereo loopback function, input selection switch, and independent controls. The new model has a small LCD display (showing peak meters) and an on/off button. It offers two XLR/TRS combo mic/line/instrument inputs and MIDI I/O jacks. This replaces the i1's one combo input, one TRS instrument input, and a pair of RCA inputs.
The product features include phantom power and a USB-C port (USB 3.1/2.0), as well as EWDM drivers for minimal latency and support for ASIO 2.0, MME, WDM, DirectSound, and virtual channels. It supports operating systems such as Windows 10 and older, as well as macOS 10.9 and newer. The following software is bundled with the i2 model: Cubasis LE (for iPhone/iPad), WaveLab LE, and Bitwig Studio 8-Track. Users will also receive a three-month subscription to JackTrip Virtual Studio.
