Ableton Live 12.3 Update: What's New? Let's take a look

November 29, 2025

The developers announced the release of Ableton Live 12.3, the latest update to their digital audio workstation (DAW), on their official website. The new version is now available for download by all users of the software.

The update focuses on deeper integration with the Push 3 and Move controllers. At the same time, the developers improved stability and enhanced existing features.

Version 12.3 includes expanded content export options, integration with the Splice service, and the ability to split stems directly within the software. The Push 3 controller now offers a new set of gestures and combinations for more convenient workstation control.

The developers named Stem Separation the main software innovation in Ableton Live 12.3. Previously available only as add-ons to the software and Push controllers, Stem Separation is now included in all workstation editions. Users can export vocals, drums, bass, and other instruments directly from the arrangement and session windows, as well as from the content browser.

The workstation has also gained integration with the Splice service. With a Splice subscription, Ableton Live users can view Splice content in the software's content library. Offers from the Splice database are also available in the Search with Sound feature, which finds similar audio files in the online catalog based on user-specified parameters or existing examples.

The improved Bounce To New Track export function, introduced in the previous update, is one of the notable changes. Users can now export groups of tracks or files directly from the project with just a few clicks. They can also render individual clips within selected boundaries and transfer them to other tracks.

According to the description, version 12.3 has an improved Auto Pan Tremolo feature. The option is displayed in a new window that offers additional modulation options. The program has also been updated with two new tools for quick MIDI generation: Sting and Patterns, which are designed for creating bass and percussion parts.

A new control element, the XYZ pad, is now available for owners of Ableton Push 3 controllers. The XYZ pad responds to and changes the sound based on finger movements along three axes. The developers say the pad expands the possibilities for changing dynamics when working with racks and effects.

A rhythm generator with four control sliders is now also available for drum racks. The position of the sliders determines the characteristics of the part being created, enabling the generation of unique rhythmic patterns. Additionally, the controllers and workstation now have new gestures for controlling Velocity parameters.

The Ableton Live 12.3 update is now available for download. The complete list of changes can be found on the official website.
