The developers at Universal Audio announced the release of the new UAD Showtime '64 Tube Amp virtual guitar amplifier on their official website. The UAD Showtime '64 Tube Amp faithfully reproduces the 100-watt Fender Showman amplifier. This amplifier was widely used in the 1950s for surf music, rock music, rhythm and blues, and other popular genres.
The original Fender Showman amplifier is characterised by a bright, clear sound with slight inaccuracies, manifested as a distinctive vibrato. This can be heard in the soundtrack to Pulp Fiction and many other compositions from the heyday of surf music.

The UAD Showtime '64 Tube Amp offers a familiar set of controls for volume, equalisation, general tone settings and the vibrato effect. There are also room controls and a selection of microphones.
This virtual amplifier is available as a native plug-in in VST3, AU and AAX formats for computers running Windows 10 or later and macOS 11 or later. No Universal Audio hardware is required to use the plugin.
It is downloaded and installed via the UA Connect launcher, which can be installed on computers running Windows 10 or later and macOS 11 or later (Intel/Apple). Once the launcher is installed and you have logged into your account, the system will display the UAD Showtime plugin as available for installation on your computer.
In order to purchase and download the plugin, you will need to create a Universal Audio account and visit the amplifier page in the store on the company's website.
