August 9, 2025

Serato has released a beta version of the official update to its popular DJ software, Serato DJ 4.0.

Version 4.0 features an updated library and improved container management. Users can now search, sort, and filter containers more quickly and conveniently thanks to enhanced functionality and new search tools. These features make it easy to find and sort containers, as well as view the container in which a specific track is located. Please note that this functionality is not available in the Lite version.

Along with other container management features, you can now add containers to your favorites, create shortcuts, use color coding for easier visualization, and place both local files and streaming tracks in a single container. Additionally, the library interface now provides information about the duration, size, and number of tracks in the container. The update also includes right-click functions for quick access to container actions and settings.

    1. We hope the official release will take place within the next six months, if not sooner. We are happy that the Serato DJ 4.0 update is in the beta testing stage because it is generally the last stage of software development. Unfortunately, Serato's developers and the company itself have not yet announced an exact date, month, or quarter for the official release.

    1. Unfortunately, the exact date of the official release of Serato DJ 4.0 is unknown. For now, we will have to settle for the public beta version, which will likely have some bugs. However, we believe the official version will be released within the next six months, if not sooner. Typically, the public beta is the final stage in the development and testing of software before its official release.
