sE Electronics has released the sE6160 Shotgun Condenser Microphone. It is designed for precise directional recording and broadcasting in noisy environments, such as crowds, dialogue on set, and broadcasting in noisy locations. It is also effective for spot-sounding orchestras and hard-to-reach instruments.
The new product is ruggedly built and comes in a molded housing. It has an XLR connector and offers a switchable attenuator (10/20 dB) and a woofer filter (80/160 Hz). The 6160 boasts a handcrafted condenser capsule that provides precise, detailed sound with low intrinsic noise. The supercardioid microphone is available individually or in a precisely matched stereo pair. It includes a windshield, microphone clip, soft case, and threaded adapter.
The sE6160 is available for around $500 (and ~$1000 for stereo pair). For more information, visit the official sE Electronics website. We would also like to point out that the sE6160 is one of the first shotgun microphones that the company has released; previously, sE Electronics did not release shotgun microphones. However, the sE6160 turned out to be very successful, offering the great sound quality inherent in all sE Electronics microphones.
