Roland has released a Miniature Collection of instruments — the TR-808 in 1/12 scale

September 28, 2025

The Japanese manufacturer announced on its official website the launch of the Roland Miniature Collection, which features miniature replicas of instruments and equipment. The series will include four miniatures.

The Roland Miniature Collection series of miniature musical instruments and equipment was created in collaboration with Bandai. The instruments will be sold in gashapon vending machines in Japan.

These machines are particularly popular in modern Japan. After a purchase is made, the machine dispenses a ball whose contents are unknown to the buyer. Inside the balls are figures of characters from TV series and anime, as well as miniature household items. These are all collectibles among young people.

Now, Roland synthesizers will be added to the variety of items. According to the announcement, buyers will find miniature versions of the Jupiter-X synthesizer, the JC-120 and Blues Cube Artist 212 guitar amplifiers, and the TR-808 drum machine in Gashapon vending machines.

The miniature versions are completely identical to the real equipment in appearance. According to available information, the width of the TR-808 drum machine gashapon is about 4 cm (1.57 inches).

The miniatures are currently available for pre-order on the Bandai website. The website features a gachapon machine. When purchasing an item from the Roland Miniature Collection, buyers do not know what will be inside the gachapon ball.

Deliveries to customers will begin in November 2025. The balls cost 500 yen each.
