Roadie 4 Automatic Guitar Tuner Release: large display, new mechanisms & improved ergonomics

June 20, 2025

Band Industries officially announced the release of the fourth version of the advanced guitar tuner, Roadie 4. The device is currently available for pre-order.

Band Industries, the creator of the Roadie advanced guitar tuner, announced the launch of the fourth generation of the device. Following the announcement, the manufacturer launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter. The devices are ready for shipment, and the campaign serves as a collection point for pre-orders.

According to the developers, the Roadie 4 has new tuning algorithms and an updated "audio circuit" that perceives the incoming signal. The creators also doubled the display size compared to previous versions — the tuner now has a 1.9-inch color LCD screen.

A control wheel on the body provides lightning-fast selection of parameters and navigation through menus and settings. Band Industries claims that the new interaction principle will make working with the tuner easier, more convenient, and more efficient.

The connector that rotates the tuning pegs has also been modified. Its new shape supports all kinds of pegs, allowing you to use Roadie 4 with any stringed instrument.

The tuner itself is slightly larger than previous versions. Its body is covered with an anti-slip coating and has a more ergonomic shape.

As before, the unit automatically detects the string height and rotates the tuning pegs to tune the instrument to the selected standard. A short vibration and a beep indicate the end of tuning.

The tuner also has a new rotation mechanism that provides neater and faster string winding. According to its creators, this feature will appeal to guitar masters and technicians who frequently change sets of strings. Algorithms determine the degree of tension and distinguish between an acoustic or electric guitar, mandolin, ukulele, or banjo being tuned.

The Roadie 4 is powered by a built-in rechargeable battery. The device is charged via a USB-C connector. With the companion app, users can create tuning presets, form "playlists" for quickly tuning similar instruments, and organize a favorites list of the most frequently used tunings.

The Roadie 4 is currently available for pre-order on the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter. The pre-order price for the tuner is $99. An additional $25 is required for shipping the accessory. Visit the manufacturer's official website for more details about the device.
