Reason 13.3 - new update of the iconic DAW

June 11, 2025

Reason Studios has released a new update to its iconic digital audio workstation (DAW). Meet the Reason 13.3!

Version 13.3 is said to offer an enhanced context-sensitive browser with tags and a floating window. It also allows you to use and set the old sidebar as the default view. In Focus-Less mode, the browser will no longer close automatically when you click "Create/Import." Users have several options if they need to close the browser: click the "Browser" button in the top bar, press the F9 key, or click the X button in the corner of the browser window. These options will keep the browser open while the user is working. When the browser is in sidebar mode, it can be resized by dragging and dropping. In Narrow mode, the Locations column displays tooltips to assist with navigation.

Other improvements include an updated waveform pattern in the Sequencer, Sample Editor, and Sampling Window; a change from native OS view to Reason's unified view in most windows; modernized settings with a more intuitive layout; and the removal of the "Show Cable Animation" option (now always enabled, as in the Reason Rack plug-in). Remote support has also been added for the Allen & Heath Xone:K2 controller. Many bug fixes have also been implemented.

The Reason update to version 13.3 is free for all users of the previous version. For more information and to see all the changes, please visit the official Reason Studios website.
