Neural DSP has released the Quad Cortex mini, an ultra-compact version of its floor-based modeling and effects processor designed for guitarists and bassists.

The product uses the same processing methods, sound quality, and Neural Capture technology as the original Quad Cortex, but it has a more portable design that measures just 22.8 x 11.8 x 6.5 cm (8.9 x 4.6 x 2.5") and weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs). This new design is ideal for use with pedalboards, desktop studios, small racks, and suspended installations. Similar to the flagship version, the device is equipped with a 7" touchscreen display paired with four stainless steel rotary footswitches for tactile control.

The Quad Cortex Mini supports Neural Capture V1 and V2, which can be used to create digital copies of amplifiers, cabinets, effects pedals, fuzz units, and compressors. It comes with a large set of features, including over 90 amplifiers, 100 effects, 1,000 impulse responses, and 2,000 recordings. It also offers free access to thousands of additional community recordings via Cortex Cloud. The following functionality has also been retained: Preset, Scene, Stomp, and Hybrid modes; Gig View; Focus and Pages systems; and compatibility with Neural DSP plugins. Presets and full system backups can be transferred freely between the Quad Cortex Mini and the original Quad Cortex, ensuring consistent operation across multiple devices.

Please note that the Quad Cortex mini functions as a 16-channel USB-C audio interface (eight inputs and eight outputs) and comes with a locking power connector for safe use on stage. Its connectivity options include a combo instrument/microphone input with phantom power, balanced XLR outputs, stereo send/return via TRS, MIDI via TRS and USB-C, and a dedicated 3.5-mm headphone output for silent practice.

The Neural DSP Quad Cortex mini is available for purchase for around $1,300. For more information about this guitar processor pedal, please visit the product page on the official Neural DSP website.
