The company announced the release of the LAVA GENIE "Smart Sampler Guitar" on its official website. According to the manufacturer, with its help, musicians will be able to bring their ideas to life in just a minute.
The concept of the controller overlaps with the LiberLive C1 project — a guitar for those who don't know how to play but would like to. The LAVA GENIE is a plastic guitar-shaped controller and sampler. It features a touch-sensitive fingerboard and a set of pads for chords, individual notes, and rhythmic patterns. RGB illumination lamps on the fingerboard indicate which notes are being played.
The device's memory stores more than 500 different sounds and a set of drum patterns. According to the company, the GENIE library is designed so that users can quickly create short soundtracks.
The guitar's body also houses a set of speakers that the manufacturer, LAVA Music, describes as powerful and full-bodied. Additionally, an external speaker system or headphones can be connected to the guitar via the output jack and input mini-jack.
GENIE LAVA has censored more than 10,000 songs that can be used for playing or jam sessions. The company believes the device will be useful for aspiring musicians, particularly beginners.
The instrument weighs 1.9 kg, and its dimensions are 77.5×31.2×7.1cm. The sampling guitar is powered by a built-in 2,500-mAh battery that provides six to eight hours of continuous use. Note that the exact time depends on the speaker system used; GENIE works longer with external speakers than with its own. The battery charges via a USB-C connector.
Interaction with the guitar is built around a companion app. The program stores a company directory, sets of exercises, and educational materials. It is also used to configure the sampler-controller.
LAVA GENIE will be available for purchase by the end of June 2025. The recommended retail price of the device is €459. The controller will be available in white and black. Visit the manufacturer's official website for more details about the device.
