IK Multimedia is releasing the second generation of its renowned Precision Monitor Series. The first model is the IK Multimedia iLoud Precision 5 MKII, which features a 5-inch ultralight coated paper mid-woofer and a 1.5-inch high-output, low-distortion, graphene-reinforced textile dome tweeter. In addition to the 5“ model, the Precision line also includes the updated iLoud Precision 6 MKII with a 6.5” ultralight coated paper mid-woofer and 150W total RMS power, and the iLoud Precision MTM MKII with 2x 5" ultralight coated paper mid-woofers and 175W total RMS power.
The Precision MKII line's main innovation is its built-in ARC X full acoustic correction system with automatic calibration and advanced DSP control. The ARC X software features an automatic 3D room analysis function that allows you to create and save correction profiles directly on the monitors. Advanced system settings and speaker emulations allow users to emulate more than 20 monitor and consumer sound reproduction systems.
The product comes in an improved enclosure that provides increased precision in transient response and soundstage. This feature is ideal for immersive, multi-channel systems. The updated ultra-lightweight 1.5” tweeter with graphene reinforcement provides greater transparency and minimal distortion during sound reproduction. It also features a 5” woofer/midrange driver. The monitor has new built-in mounts and special metal brackets (sold separately) that simplify speaker placement and allow for precise angle adjustment to achieve optimal positioning.
The iLoud Precision 5 MKII by IK Multimedia will be available for approximately $800 per monitor and $1,800 per pair. Additionally, ARC X software is free and fully compatible with iLoud Micro Monitor Pro, iLoud MTM MKII, ARC Studio, and ARC 4 for all registered users.
