The IK Multimedia company announced the release of the new ARC X monitoring system calibration software on its official website. The software is a "powerful platform" that combines the capabilities of ARC and X-MONITOR.
According to the company, ARC X seamlessly integrates into the current setup for more accurate tuning. It contains profiles of dozens of popular monitors in different price segments, allowing users to adjust and simulate their sound.
IK Multimedia stated that users of its equipment will not need to purchase a separate license for ARC X; for instance, owners of iLoud Micro Monitor Pro, iLoud MTM MKII, and iLoud Precision MKI monitors, as well as ARC Studio and ARC 4 system owners, can upgrade to ARC X free of charge.
ARC X is built on 3D positioning technology that provides an accurate analysis of the environment. The company claims the technology eliminates room imperfections without distorting the actual sound. ARC X promises a simple process for optimizing sound systems and providing transparent acoustic correction of monitors.
Setting up the monitoring system with ARC X takes just a few minutes. Once launched, the software creates a room profile that can be loaded into the iLoud monitors' memory for future use. Profiles can be adjusted using the equalizer and 20 emulations of other monitor models. The emulation feature allows you to check your mix on other monitor models, even if they are unavailable.
ARC X is bundled with iLoud Precision MKII monitors and a standalone application. Although ARC X is designed to work with IK Multimedia's monitors, the software is also compatible with monitors from other manufacturers.
ARC X is available as standalone software or as a hardware/software bundle that includes a measurement microphone.
The measurement kit costs $199 and includes the microphone and software. The software alone costs $149. For more details about IK Multimedia ARC X, visit the product page on the company's official website.
