A Reddit user shared his insights on which headphones buyers like and dislike, and he compiled some fascinating lists of the best wireless headphones (earbuds). To determine this, he analyzed thousands of threads and recommendations about headphones posted on the site's subreddits.
Heyyyyjoo, a Reddit user, analyzed thousands of topics on the platform in which users discussed wireless headphones — the earbuds used with smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other devices. As a result, the enthusiast compiled an improvised rating of headphones based on ratings, recommendations, and real user reviews.
According to the author of the study, all threads discussing headphones published over the past year, from November 2024 to November 2025, were analyzed. The sample included topics with titles such as "Best Wireless Headphones."
The sample included more than 13,000 user responses. All of this data was uploaded to a neural network, which read the topics, selected the main points, and assigned positive, neutral, or negative ratings to the discussed models.
The author compiled the results in two simple top lists: one based on discussions in the r/Earbuds subreddit and the other based on discussions across all subreddits on the site.
The three generations of Apple AirPods Pro were the most frequently mentioned headphones in the threads. The second most popular headphones across all subreddits were the standard AirPods. Within r/Earbuds, the most popular were the Technics EAH-AZ100. The top rankings also included the Sony WF-1000XM5, the Soundcore Liberty 4, and the flagship models from Bose. The ranking also includes lesser-known or rarely available models from Denon, Devialet, and other manufacturers.

The author explained the principles behind the ranking in the relevant thread. Users commented on the scope of the work and offered suggestions for improving the ranking in the future. The enthusiast also created an interactive website to help make the ranking easier to understand.
