Sequential Fourm Release – the company's most affordable analog synthesizer

September 28, 2025

In a press release, the company announced the release of its new Sequential Fourm four-voice polyphonic synthesizer. The instrument offers a wide range of sound possibilities and is priced surprisingly low.

The Fourm is a fully analog polyphonic synthesizer. It is equipped with a new keyboard mechanism designed from the ground up with polyphonic aftertouch support.

It offers fully analog subtractive synthesis with four voices. It has two oscillators that generate sawtooth and square waveforms. The second oscillator supports pulse width modulation and can be synchronized with the first oscillator to expand its sound capabilities.

The synthesizer's built-in mixer has a feedback circuit and an additional noise generator. The model also features a four-stage low-pass filter with low-frequency resonance compensation. According to the company, these features give the synthesizer a distinctive Sequential sound with characteristic warmth and attack.

The modulation section has a wide range of settings. For example, the model has a modulation matrix similar to the Sequential Pro-One. Additionally, musicians have access to two ADSR envelopes, one for the amplifier and one for the filters. The manufacturer notes that the waveforms are modeled on those used in the company's first instruments.

The low-frequency LFO oscillator generates sawtooth, triangle, and square waveforms and supports samples. Note that the synthesizer allows you to select multiple waveforms simultaneously.

Other features include 128 presets, unison mode, a built-in arpeggiator, and a sequencer. The sequencer supports the Glide function at every step.

The Sequential Four is equipped with a compact 37-key keyboard. The keys support polyphonic aftertouch; the company developed the Taktiv mechanism specifically for this synthesizer. It accurately senses keystroke force and transmits the information to the analog synthesis engine.

In terms of connectivity, the model has a mono output and a headphone output. It also has MIDI IN and MIDI OUT connectors on a classic 5-pin DIN connector. The device also has a USB port for connecting to a computer, as well as a port for connecting a footswitch and expression pedal.

The Sequential Fourm is currently available for purchase. The synthesizer's recommended retail price is $999, making it the most affordable instrument in the company's product line. For more details and sound samples, visit the official Sequential website.
